Gray Blending in Miami

Gray does not have to be covered to be handled. Blending softens the line between your natural color and your regrowth, so the grow-out is quieter and the upkeep is smaller.

Blending and covering are different services

Covering gray means a single process color applied to the whole head. It takes you to one all-over shade and it needs redoing as soon as the roots show. Single process at Red Market is $150 for 90 minutes, or $160 in INOA, the ammonia-free line.

Blending is softer. It keeps a tone close to your natural color and softens the transition instead of flattening it, so regrowth reads as a shadow rather than a line. For a lot of guests, especially anyone who is not ready to be one color, it is the more honest option.

The services that do it, with prices

Men’s color is $125 for 30 minutes and is the men’s gray-blending service on our menu: a tonal change worked so it does not read as dyed. A root melt is $95 for 15 minutes and blurs the line between your regrowth and your length. Single process is $150 for 90 minutes when you want full coverage, and INOA single process is $160 for 90 minutes in an ammonia-free formula.

A gloss and toner is $95 for 30 minutes, the finishing step that sets tone and shine, and after a color service it is $55 for 15 minutes. If you are blending rather than covering, the root melt and the gloss are usually the two that do most of the work.

Root melt, and why it changes the grow-out

A root melt is a 15-minute service priced at $95. It is not a full color: it softens the edge where your regrowth meets the length, which is the part that makes a color look overdue. Booked between full services, it gives you a softer grow-out without committing to a whole head of color.

If your gray is concentrated at the hairline or the part, tell your colorist. Placement is what decides whether blending looks natural or patchy, and it is set at the consultation, not at the bowl.

For men, and for anyone growing into silver

Men’s color is $125 for 30 minutes and is booked as its own service, in the same chairs as everything else. Men’s cuts are $110, $125 with Rogelio and $150 with Jean Marc, and men’s keratin is $250 if humidity is the other half of the problem.

If you are moving toward your natural silver rather than away from it, say that at the consultation. Blending can be the first step of growing it out, but the plan has to be set deliberately or the in-between stage looks accidental.

Fallon Fitzpatrick is the best hair colorist I’ve ever been to. She’s so detail-oriented and you can tell she genuinely cares about getting everything just right. I came in with super brassy, orange-toned hair and she completely transformed it into the prettiest blonde. Hair is 100% her passion and it shows every time. I always leave feeling like my hair is a masterpiece!
