Hair Salon Near North Miami Beach
About twenty minutes east of North Miami Beach — French balayage, color correction and precision cutting at Bal Harbour Shops.
Just under six miles. West on 163rd Street, then south down Collins Avenue — about twenty minutes when the lights are kind.
There is a joke worth getting out of the way: North Miami Beach has no beach. The town was platted in 1881 as Fulford-by-the-Sea, and in 1931 it annexed a stretch of oceanfront and renamed itself to borrow some of Miami Beach’s fame. Those beaches later incorporated as Sunny Isles Beach, and the name stayed behind without them. The practical result is that the beach North Miami Beach was named for is the one our guests walk on, and we are the salon at the end of it.
Most of what a North Miami Beach household needs sits on 163rd Street, and it is functional rather than considered — a mall, a hardware store, a supermarket. For anything with more thought in it, residents already drive east or north. That is why a Bal Harbour appointment is a shorter mental leap here than the mileage suggests: you are not adding a journey, you are extending one you already make.
We see a steady number of guests from the Skylake corridor, the stretch north of 163rd Street where the city’s Orthodox community is concentrated. That brings the same request our Surfside and Bal Harbour guests make, with a longer drive attached to it: a Friday appointment that finishes with room to spare. Say so when you book and we will place you early enough in the day that the drive home is not part of the arithmetic.

North Miami Beach questions
- How long is the drive from North Miami Beach?
- About twenty minutes outside rush hour. Take 163rd Street east across the Intracoastal, then turn south on Collins Avenue — the slow part is the run of lights through Sunny Isles, not the crossing.
- Is it worth the drive for a single appointment?
- For a cut, that is your call. For color it usually is, because color is the thing people most often drive to have done properly the first time rather than corrected later. If you are unsure, book a consultation and we will tell you honestly what we would do.
