Hair Extensions in Miami

Extensions fitted by a salon that colours hair for a living — which is the whole point, because the failure mode of extensions is almost always the colour match, not the fitting.

K-Tip and tape-in

We fit two methods. K-TIP extensions are individual keratin-bonded strands, applied one at a time — the most flexible for adding density in specific places and the most natural through movement. TAPE-IN extensions are wefts applied in thin sandwiched sections, which is faster to fit and easier to maintain, and sits flatter for finer hair.

Both are priced by consultation, because the honest answer depends on how much hair you need and what length — quoting a flat price before seeing your hair would be a guess. The extension consultation itself is complimentary, and it is a real appointment: 30 minutes with the stylist who would do the work.

Why the colour match is the hard part

Extensions fail when the hair does not match — too flat, too warm, one uniform block against your dimensional natural colour. Red Market is a colour house first, so extension work is matched by the same colourists who paint balayage all day, and can be custom-toned to your existing colour rather than picked from a swatch ring and hoped for.

If you are colouring and adding extensions, we sequence it properly: your own hair is coloured first, then the extensions are matched to the finished result. Doing it the other way round is why so many extension jobs look obviously applied.

Upkeep, and what it costs

Tape-in extensions need moving up as your own hair grows — the re-tape is $250 and is typically needed every six to eight weeks. Removal is $250 and is done properly, with solvent and patience, because the damage from extensions almost always happens at removal rather than during wear.

A blow dry with extensions is $150. Your stylist will show you how to brush, wash and sleep in them at the fitting — five minutes of instruction that decides whether they last.

Frequently asked

How much do hair extensions cost in Miami?

K-Tip and tape-in extensions at Red Market are priced by consultation, because the cost depends on how much hair you need and at what length. The extension consultation is complimentary (30 minutes). Ongoing: tape-in re-tape $250, extension removal $250, blow dry with extensions $150.

What is the difference between K-Tip and tape-in extensions?

K-Tip extensions are individual keratin-bonded strands applied one at a time — most natural through movement and best for targeted density. Tape-in extensions are thin wefts sandwiched around your own hair — faster to fit, easier to maintain, and they sit flatter, which suits finer hair. Your stylist will recommend one at the consultation based on your hair density and how you wear it.

How long do tape-in extensions last?

The hair itself lasts several months with care, but the placement needs moving up every six to eight weeks as your own hair grows — that is the $250 re-tape. Coming in on schedule is what protects your own hair.

Can you colour-match extensions to my hair?

Yes, and it is the part we take most seriously. Extensions are matched by the same colour team that does our balayage and can be custom-toned to your existing colour. If you are also colouring your own hair, we colour yours first and match the extensions to the finished result.
