Curly Hair in Miami

South Florida is where curly hair is tested hardest — humidity one afternoon, salt water the next. What we offer is honest curl care: a treatment that works with your texture, and a straight answer about what a curl cut can and cannot do.

What a curl treatment actually does

The Curl Enhancing Treatment ($300, 90 min) is the service we recommend for curls that frizz the moment they leave the salon. It defines the curl you already have — tightens the pattern, controls the halo of frizz, and sets the shape so it survives the walk to the car, not just the chair. It is a treatment, not a retexturizing service: it does not straighten, and it does not permanently change your curl.

Alongside it, K18 molecular repair ($65, 30 min) or a deep conditioning mask ($55) is how we handle curls that are dry as well as frizzy. Those two problems travel together in Miami, but they are not the same thing, and the complimentary consultation is where we separate them.

The Miami problem is not your hair

Most curl complaints in this city are environmental, not genetic. Humid air opens the cuticle and makes curls swell into frizz; salt water and chlorine strip the moisture that keeps the pattern tight; constant sun does the rest. A curl treatment done right is really a humidity plan — it does not fight the weather, it makes your hair less responsive to it.

But we will tell you plainly what a treatment cannot do. It cannot make dry, damaged curls healthy in one sitting — that is a course of repair, not a single service. It cannot hold a definition you then erase with the wrong products at home. And it will not turn a tight curl into loose waves; if that is what you actually want, we will say so, because it is a different consultation entirely.

Curl cuts, and the honest caveat

We cut curls as curls — on dry hair, shaped around the pattern the hair actually holds rather than the shape it holds wet. We do not advertise a trademarked “curl method”, because the result comes from the stylist, not the branding. Book a Ladies Cut ($250, 60 min) and tell us you wear your hair curly; the consultation is complimentary, and the cut is shaped so the pattern falls correctly when it dries.

The truth about curl cuts as a category is that the label matters less than who is holding the scissors. A stylist who cuts waves every day will do better by your hair than one who happens to hold a weekend certification. That is the honest version, and it is why we put the stylist next to the price rather than a method name.

Frequently asked

How much is a curl treatment in Miami?

At Red Market Miami, the Curl Enhancing Treatment is $300 (90 minutes). Alongside it, K18 molecular repair is $65 (30 min) and a deep conditioning mask is $55. Consultations are complimentary.

What does a curl enhancing treatment do?

It defines and de-frizzes the curl you already have — tightening the pattern, taming the halo of frizz, and setting the shape so it survives Miami humidity longer. It is a treatment, not a retexturizer: it does not straighten and does not permanently change the curl.

Do you do curly hair cuts?

Yes — we cut curls as curls, on dry hair, shaped around the pattern the hair actually holds. A Ladies Cut is $250 (60 minutes), with a complimentary consultation first. Tell us you wear your hair curly and we will shape it to fall correctly when it dries.

Can a curl treatment fix damaged hair?

Not in one sitting. If the curl is dry and damaged as well as frizzy, we will recommend a course of repair — K18 molecular repair ($65) or a deep conditioning mask ($55) — alongside the treatment, and be honest about how much of a difference a single appointment can make.
